Sam Gibson - Crispi Ambassador

I’m a bushman through and through, I head up Eastern Whio Link, the East Coast's largest hunter-led conservation project which means a good chunk of my month is spent out on the hill, checking traps, hunting or working with volunteers. During other parts of the month, I’ll be on some other part of the country working with farmers around things like deer, regenerating forests or protecting rivers or I’ll be filming documentaries or out on a dream hunt with my mates. But the thing that really spins my wheels is when the adventures involve my kids. That’s my life and that’s why I wear Crispi boots.

I want a boot that lets my foot move the way it was designed to. I prefer a high-cut boot to keep my feet dry when I'm crossing the small side creeks I encounter regularly. Weight is also important, I don't want to carry a heavy boot all day, but I still need plenty of ankle support when I'm off track.

I have wide feet with high arches, so I find that a softer leather moulds to the shape of my foot and provides the comfort I need.

That's why the Crispi Titan has been my go-to boot for most of my hunting. When I'm tackling the South Island high country, I wear the Crispi Hunter. For river work, I've been known to wear the Futura CX."
